Course Description:

This workshop is aimed at undergraduate students who wish to learn how to search for information effectively. In this workshop, you will learn how to find related articles, books, news or more for your course assignments and essays by using XJTLU digital library. This session will deliver:

  1. The introduction of  Databases

  2. The preparation before you search: Identify Information Needs & Determine the Search Type & Select a Database

  3. Basic searching skills

  4. Knowledge of Library Databases

  5. Other Library Services

Aim:

This workshop will:

  1. Develop your understanding of your information needs

  2. Familiarise you with library resources for your subject

  3. Help you formulate a search using keywords and subject terms

Bring along your own topic to try out some of the techniques during the session please.
