Course Description:

This workshop is aimed at students who wish to learn how to search for information effectively from multiple sources. In this workshop, you will learn how to find related articles, books, news, e-books or more for your course assignments and essays by using XJTLU digital library. This session will deliver:

  1. The introduction of Discover, e-Books, e-Journals and Databases

  2. The preparation before you search: Identify Information Needs & Determine the Search Type & Select a Database &  Evaluate the Search Results

  3. Basic searching skills

  4. Knowledge of Library Discover, e-Books, e-Journals and Databases

  5. Other Library Services

Aim:

This workshop will:

  1. Develop your understanding of your information needs

  2. Familiarise you with library resources for your subject

  3. Help you formulate a search using keywords and subject terms

  4. Help you find the trustful information

Bring along your own topic to try out some of the techniques during the session please.
