This is an online workshop aimed at undergraduate students and postgraduate students who are starters in using XJTLU Library's digital resources. This workshop provides a quick guide for using Discover, the Library's one-stop searching platform, to find related materials for your assignments and essays. The following topics will be covered:

  1. Introduction to Discover

  2. Preparation for your search -- identify information needs & determine the search types

  3. Basic searching skills

  4. Other library services that may help

Aim: 

This workshop will:

  1. Develop your understandings of your information needs

  2. Formulate a search using keywords and subject terms

  3. Search Discover effectively using basic searching techniques

  4.  Use other functions available in Discover

This session will be delivered via Zoom (https://zoom.com.cn/), an online meeting software. Please download the Zoom app in advance. You may refer to th guide HERE if necessary.
