This webinar is suitable for Year 3/4 UG students, PG students and academic staff who would like to make full use of the advanced functions of citation databases for research. In this workshop, main functions and searching skills of Web of Science (one of the world's top citation databases) will be introduced. This session will cover:

  1. What is Web of Science and citation indexes

  2. Searching high-quality literature with Web of Science

  3. Using the analysis function to identify valuable research

  4. Catching up with the latest research development

Learning Outcomes: 

After this workshop, you are expected to be able to:

  1. Understand the functions of citation indexes and bibliographic databases

  2. Use Web of Science to identify high-impact research & related documents

  3. Use Web of Science to gain an overview of the research trends in a field

  4. Keep updated with the latest research in a field by creating alerts
