Course Description:

In this session, you will be able to learn about different levels of metrics, including journal metrics, article metrics and author metrics, as well as the tools used to find these metrics.

Altmetrics, as alternative measurement for research impact will also be introduced.

Learning Outcomes:

After this session, you will be able to:

1. Understand the advantages and disadvantages of different research metrics and indicators

2. Learn about alternative metrics for measuring research impact

3. Gain insights in the evaluation and selection of journals for publishing/identifying the best journals

4. Define and track article impact, and identify the best articles

5. Track author impact and define your own research impact
